# BELL Stack

A personal AI assistant sample built with Browserbase, eve, Stripe Link, and Linq, with browser automation and messaging.

## Build a personal assistant with the BELL stack.

[BELL](https://www.browserbase.com/blog/bell-personal-assistant-stack) is a reference architecture and sample app for an assistant that can browse websites, receive messages, and help with purchases. It combines Browserbase, [eve](https://eve.dev/), Link by Stripe, and Linq.

### Give your assistant a browser

Browserbase and Stagehand provide browser automation, saved browser contexts, and human handoff. eve defines the agent's tools, instructions, channels, and conversation state. Adapt these pieces to the websites and tasks your assistant supports.

### Add messaging and payments

Linq connects the assistant to iMessage and SMS through a signed webhook and sender allowlist. Link by Stripe adds wallet authorization and purchase approval through the messaging flow.

The sample also includes integrations for 1Password operator credentials and Baselayer merchant access. Personal 1Password Agentic Autofill is disabled by default.

### Run the sample

Use Node.js 24 and pnpm 10.33.4. Clone the [repository](https://github.com/browserbase/bell-stack), install dependencies, and copy `.env.example` to `.env`. Set `OPENAI_API_KEY`, `BROWSERBASE_API_KEY`, and a target website in `BELL_DEMO_URL`, then run `pnpm dev`.

BELL is intended for one trusted operator. Configure application authentication and durable storage before deploying, and follow the [integration guides](https://github.com/browserbase/bell-stack#start-here) to enable messaging, wallet access, and other services.
